" In nature, despite all worries, the human will be overwhelmed by a great sense of well-being ."
(Ralph Waldo Emerson)
Regardless of whether you want to "experience" mountains and valleys on a mountainbike or if you prefer to go about doing it more easily, you will find both in Durbach and in the surrounding area.
From 2004 to 2011 Offenburg was the venue for the Worldclass Mountainbike Challenge and the UCI Mountainbike Worldcup. The races took place in the forest right on our doorstep. The five routes of varying difficulty are well signposted. One of the popular destinations is the "Moosturm" (a tower) on Durbach's highest peak, the "Mooskopf".
If you prefer to enjoy the less difficult routes, there are also numerous options here in the region, for example from "Offenburg" along the river "Kinzig" or to the surrounding lakes, which invite you to take a refreshing bath. The plain of the Rhine - ideal terrain for families - is not far away: The agricultural areas in this part of the region are crossed by a good network of small rural roads, which enable long-distance cycling without car traffic. In contrast, in the "Taubergießen" (protected landscape) there are remnants of the old, jungle-like river landscapes of the Rhine - a nature that can hardly be found today.
